Most quality timber garage doors are made from Cedar wood which is ideal, because it is strong, light, naturally rot resistant, stable and not too expensive. 2. Solid cedar with Plywood Panels Some garage doors are made with a Cedar wood frame and Cedar face external grade plywood panels. This enables a large range of designs to be made. The colour difference between the ply panels and the framework is slightly noticeable depending on make. This difference is hidden if the door is stained dark. Below are our most popular Cedar/Ply garage doors. Available as up and over canopy or retractable (can be automated) or side hinged.

3. Traditional Solid Cedar or Idigbo Panelled We now offer Traditional Solid Panelled cedar / idigbo garage doors which are constructed from 20 mm thick raised and fielded cedar / idigbo panels within a traditional mortice and tenon frame. These garage doors are high quality in construction and appearance. Available as up and over canopy or retractable (can be automated) or side hinged.

4. Side hinged in pine Quality pine side hinged doors, available in the two designs shown below. The version with windows comes ready glazed. Available in 2 standard sizes only (ie) 7’0” x 7’0” and 7’0” x 6’6”. Require on site painting. Locks and hinges to be chosen and supplied by customer

5. Wooden sectional garage doors

The sectional garage door by its very nature is divided into horizontal sections. Some building planners stipulate timber, vertically planked, sectional garage doors. Cedardoor make a beautiful unglazed or glazed version of this, along with other attractive designs.
